Racial intolerance in South Australia ‘too high’

September 29, 2008

ONE in two South Australians do not like the idea of a close relative marrying a Muslim, while one in three are against marriage to Aborigines or black Africans.  Despite this, only one in 10 actually admits to being racist.  >>>>>

The good part is that many are honest with the fact that they are ‘racist.’ The bad part is, the majority of the many, at least nine times as much, are in a state of denial.  It would probably be a similar response if we asked, “Are we, as a nation, contributing to the unjust imperial conquest of the world with the annihilation of Muslims?”

And this is why democracies have a significant problem:  “We may vote for and choose our path based on what we harbor in our frail and wicked hearts, right or wrong.”
