Pakistan Gov’t May Open ‘Secret Talks’ with Taliban

The suicide attack at the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad last Saturday may bring about a change in the Pakistani administration’s handling of the terror crisis.
The bombing, which killed dozens of people and wounded over 250, has rattled the country’s top security brass and has emboldened the Islamist rebel group Taliban, a senior official told the Pakistani daily The Nation. “The government is likely to give a green light to security agencies for initiating ‘secret talks’ with the Taliban… to avert such catastrophic incidents in the future,” the official added.  >>>>>
